It is not only teenagers who are prone to the skin condition known as acne, today adults are just as likely to suffer from it as well. As we all become a lot more aware of the importance of looking after our health and our bodies so we are now looking for more natural ways of treating many health problems and ailments. This is a reason why more and more people are now looking for natural acne remedies in order to treat this particular skin condition.

In this article we offer some different natural remedies which you may wish to try and which are unlikely to cause the kinds of side effects associated with more traditional treatments for acne. In most cases these treatments not only treat the skin condition but also what is the underlying cause for the problem.

Treatment 1 - Aloe Vera - You can either use this in gel or juice form and the reason why it is so effective is that it contains antibiotic properties. Along with actually treating the infection it can help to prevent the scarring caused by this skin problem. It is most effective when used twice each day (once in the morning and once in the evening). It should be used until such time as you see an improvement in the condition of your skin in some cases it can take as long as 6 months.

Treatment 2 - Apple Cider Vinegar - This is a very effective cleanser for the skin and should be applied directly to the face using a cotton ball. Not only does it help to remove dirt and bacteria from the pores but also helps to remove any excess oil and so bring the skin’s pH level back into balance. If you are looking for a quick way to treat this particular skin condition then it may be worth your while trying this remedy.

Treatment 3 - Cucumber - Yes an ideal natural way of treating acne. You have the choice of either liquefying a cucumber, which has been peeled before applying to the acne. Or you can drink the juice four of five times a day for one week. It helps to treat the acne by purifying your blood along with improving the functioning of your lymphatic system, which in turn results in you having much clearer skin.

Treatment 4 - Grapefruit Seed Extract - This particular plant extract contains very strong antimicrobial properties and so has very good disinfectant properties. To use this you need to combine it with water. Mix between 4 and 40 drops of the extract to 4 fluid ounces of water. Once mixed together you then apply the mixture directly to the affected area using a cotton ball of Q-tip between two and three times each day.

Treatment 5 - Tea Tree Oil - This is another very effective way of treating acne because like other natural remedies we have mentioned it contains some good antiseptic properties. These then help to remove the dirt and bacteria which can often exacerbate the problem of acne. But unlike some of the remedies we have mentioned do not expect to see results quickly this one does take some time to help treat the problem. But unlike some of the more common over the counter treatments available it helps the skin to retain moisture rather than drying it out.

Along with the natural acne remedies we have mentioned above there are plenty of others that you may want to consider trying. There are some which require you to make changes in your lifestyle and diet, but these will then help to make sure that once gone the acne will find it much more difficult to return in the future.
