Do You Know The Causes Of Yeast Infection
As they say prevention is better than a cure. Firstly we need to know what it is and what the causes of yeast infection are, so that we can set up our own affective habits to prevent it from occurring in the first place.
Every woman is aware of and concerned about vaginal yeast infection. The cause of yeast infection is mainly attributable to the organism known as Candida Albicans. These nasty little organisms are found in the vagina and if allowed to multiply will quickly cause yeast infection in the vagina.
Why Do Candida Albicans Multiply?
There are several reasons why Candida Albicans multiply the main reasons are set out here - too much heat, - Transmission through sexual activity, - Changes in sugar levels - Changes in the hormones All of these conditions can assist in the development of vaginal yeast infection.
There are obviously other reasons why Candida Albicans will multiply these include the use of antibiotics, wearing clothes that are not made from cotton and certain chemicals.
Even use of condoms while having sexual intercourse can result in vaginal yeast infection. Even if one does try and reduce yeast products in one’s diet, there is still no clinching evidence to suggest that doing so will prevent yeast infection.
Obviously, not having proper personal hygiene, as the presence of moisture is also what the microorganisms need to thrive in. Thus a woman having menstrual periods would be more likely to suffer from yeast infection.
One has also to be aware that the use of the following may cause yeast infection. Bubble baths, vaginal douches, certain harsh soaps, perfumed toilet paper which contain strong irritants, and many laundry detergents used to wash undergarments can cause yeast infection.
It is recommended that after urinating women are careful not to wipe from the anus to the vagina as this can cause bacterial yeast infection from passing from the rectum to the vagina. Another area of concern is washing of the vaginal area more than is necessary with ordinary tap water as this too may be another cause of yeast infection. It must also be noted that yeast infection is not solely confined to the vagina as it can even be found in other oral cavities, the bowels, folds in skin, nipples, ears and even on the penis.
Thus, there is a pressing need to identify the basic cause of yeast infection so as to make it considerably easier to prevent and also cure the disease from developing further.Diets rich in anti-oxidants are also a very good way to build up your bodies resistance levels helping your bodies own defence mechanism control the yeast infection.
